Who looks after your information
Defter ή Tefteri is published by Just Gold Greece and edited by Kyriakos Gold. Just Gold Greece is responsible for the personal information collected through defteritefteri.com. Write to hello@defteritefteri.com about anything on this page.
What you send
The forms let you suggest a word, comment on a word, suggest a correction or write to the editors. Depending on the form, we keep what you write, the name you give and your email address. The contact form needs an email address so that we can write back; on the other forms it is optional.
How it is used
Each submission is stored in a database run by Cloudflare and emailed to the editor so it can be read and checked. Approved comments appear on their word page under the name you give, or as anonymous if you leave the name out. Words and corrections that are accepted go into the book. Email addresses are never published; we use them only to reply to you about what you sent.
Keeping out spam
When you send a form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a program, is sending it. Most people never see a puzzle. Cloudflare's privacy policy covers that check. With each submission and each vote we also keep a scrambled code made from your internet address. We cannot read your address from it, and we use it only to limit how many submissions and votes one connection can send.
Votes
Voting for the next tee needs no name and no email. The first time you vote, your browser makes a random code, and we keep it with your vote so that you can change your vote later.
In your browser
The site keeps a few settings in your own browser: whether you turned the lines off, your votes and voting code, your basket in the bazaar and the currency you chose. They stay on your device. The voting code is sent with a vote, and the basket number is sent when the bazaar loads your basket. The site uses no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics that follow you from site to site. The fonts are served from this site.
The bazaar
Orders are placed in the Defter ή Tefteri shop on Fourthwall, which runs the basket, the payment and the delivery. The shop's own privacy policy covers your order.
Where it is kept, and for how long
Cloudflare and Fourthwall may store and process information outside Australia, Greece and Turkey. Submissions and votes are kept until the editor deletes them or you ask us to.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, withdraw a comment or a suggestion, or object to how we use it. Write to hello@defteritefteri.com.
If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have these rights under the GDPR and can complain to the data protection authority where you live; in Greece that is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority. In Turkey you have rights under the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, Law No. 6698) and can apply to the Personal Data Protection Authority. In Australia, privacy complaints go to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes
Material changes to this notice will be explained on this page.
